'Miles Away' by Madonna (World Exclusive)

By far, this is definitely my most favourite track of her Madgesty's newest, Hard Candy. Perhaps of the year too. Apparently its about the difficulties of long-distance relationships. Very pertinent as almost everyone is 'in' one given our age of Facebooks, MypSpaces and Orkuts.

I'm not going to overanalyze the song. She says it all...

Miles Away
by Madonna

You always love me more
When were are miles away
Your'e not afraid tell me
When you are miles away
Those 3 words are never enough
When its long-distance love

I guess we are our best
When we are miles away
So far away, So far away...

MP3: 'Miles Away' by Madonna (World Exclusive)

I wish I wrote this.
Because I could have. We could have. Easily.

Bur we are, miles away...

The Ex Hex

You know *that* scenario...

A regular 'Blair Witch' moment that ever singleton dreads? Its the utter fear of being single & *suddenly* finding out that *all* your exes are with their *currents* now.

What a shock!
What a jolt!

Yet it leaves you feeling drained. Not to mention, out of current(s)...

Once. Again. - A Reflection

Once.
Again.

I saw our reflections on the frail window-pane overlooking the city. Once. Again. I thought. How perfect we are for eachother. How lovely our lives would be, together. How easily we would share forever. Once. Again.

How could I ever tell you this? How could I never tell you this. Those loving eyes who seal my lips. That hair that clouds my vision. That gait which puts me astray. Once. Again.

I think its time. All yours & not mine. You're going away, making me wish I was a stamped tag running with you on your shoulder, so that we could catch that flight together. Never vs. Forever? Once. Again.

I do love you.

Once.
Again.

ZONG Ad?

I'm getting very mixed reviews about the new ZONG ad. Some say its ground-breaking. Others say its pretty-boring. I think it does slightly deviate to the latter. Has creativity 'officially' died in Pakistani advertising that now we have to resort to mud-slinging?

A creative initiative that's based on the critique of another, not only fails the test of creativity but also that of integrity. And the day creativity dies, so will humanity. And all the advertising that we would be left with are voice-over artists, reading product-posters to us, while running on treadmills - you know, just to keep things moving (& hopefully simultanously interesting)!

Power Cuts!

Dressing in the Dark

The electricity shortage has gotten the best of us lately. Morning, evening, night - there's always an hour without light. And isn't it all about the right light, or more importantly - the right tight? As the myth goes, a man should be perfectly capable to dress in complete darkness. I guess its similar to performing in the dark. The right man will know where everything will go in i.e. the right places. Pocket-squares, cuff-links, lace-knots, hair-parting etc. in absolute-absence of light. Uber-perfection in Utter-darkness? Perhaps.

Hence, the book 'Dressing in the Dark' came around - followed by my vintage style icon Cary Grant (above) with currents being Daniel Craig & George Clooney (below).

What can I say? I'm a fan for old-school glamour. Tom Ford (below) does it well. Though, surprisingly, he's amercian but with a classic sense european style.

Do to the mass (and rather unfortunate) Americanisation of the world, 'dressing-up' for men suddenly became 'gay'. No offense to the community, but I thought 'gay' people were (and preferred to be) the lesser-dressed mankind. You know, crotchless jeans, leather thongs etc. So, how 'dressing-up' became a sexual-expression, I still don't know. Maybe Ali-G's upcoming flick will explain more.

But no matter if its 'Dress in the Dark' or any other publication, in my books the only way a man can prove his style time-after-time is to become timeless.
